Poland
From 2006 KDE Energy Europe is actively developing wind energy projects in Poland. Since the beginning of 2009 KDE Energy Polska Sp. z o.o., a full daughter of KDE Energy Europe, was set up. Our team is based in Szczecin.
We are continuously looking for new opportunities to develop wind farms in Poland. Besides Greenfield developments, initiated by our own team, we are cooperating with local partners. They have the local contacts and provide good opportunities. There is a good synergy with KDE’s expertise, financial scale and long term strategy focussed on the development of renewable energy. Within a few years we aim to own and operate running wind farms in Poland.
Our know-how, experience and contacts in Poland and other European countries enable us to deliver the best solutions for development, construction and operation. Our team is cooperating with renowned consultants to advice us on legal, planning, environmental, technical and financial issues. For wind measuring campaigns, yield studies and supply of wind turbines we have contacts with major suppliers in both Europe and Poland.
At nearly 38 million inhabitants we are one of the larger European countries with a strong growing economy and lots of space for wind farms. By 2020 15% of our energy consumption should be produced from renewable energy sources. Because of promising circumstances and conditions the polish wind energy market has great potential.
Wind energy is clean, cheap and available everywhere and contributes to preserving the planet through greenhouse gas reduction. We aim to develop wind farms in a responsible manner and in harmony with the local population, nature and landscape.
Polish statistics:
-
Potential market for wind energy in Poland is over 8.000MW.
-
Installed wind power at the end of 2009; around 660MW
-
Long term governmental support system by means of Renewable Energy Certificates. For every MWh of electrical energy produced below target the energy supplier is obliged to pay a substitution fee of PLN 240 (appr. 60 Euros). This amount is indexed every year and provides additional income for green energy, on top of the normal grey electricity price.
-
Opportunities for additional investment grants and soft loans from Regional, National and EU sources.
We are confident that we can make a positive contribution to the production of clean energy for Poland, made in Poland!
